In the mid-seventies he relocated to Paris under contract with Sipa Press and traveled the world covering major international events. It was during this period that he took his famous picture of arch-terrorist Carlos the Jackal at Algiers airport – a photo that was acknowledged to be one of the most important Photos of the 20th Century.

What People Are Saying

  • "The Wheeler catalogue picks up right where Slim Aarons left off" - Rizzoli Publishers

  • “Brevity is the soul of wit - when Shakespeare said it, he didn’t mean it for photographers. You’d hope he wouldn’t mind the context, after all, what could be more brief? That’s the case made by Kerry Wheeler, who wields a camera to slow the fogging of the past, and gaze at what might be.”

  • “If you love the wistful sense of wanderlust and a French or Italian oceanfront view, you'll love these prints.” - Esquire Magazine
